Test’ Elisha Hunter, Sarah Hunter, William Hunter.

Event Note

In the name of God Amen I Hardy Hunter of Bertie County in the State of North Carolina being sick and weak in body but of sound and well disposed mind and memory desiring of almighty God the Father of all mercies to have mercy upon me and for the distribution of what temporal estate it hath pleased God to possess me with I make constitute and ordain this my last Will and Testament in the following manner (Viz)
Imprimis I lend to my well beloved wife Rachel Hunter during her natural life or widowhood my plantation whereon I now live allso I lend her the place over the Swamp on the South side of the road & the use of the plantation whereon Cader Hunter formally lived till the heirs of Cader comes to the age of twenty one years also I lend her seven Negroes named Jack Simon Joe Gim Gin Moll and Cate and after to return to my estate again.
Item I give and bequeath to my son Cader Hunters two Sons Humfree Hunter & Cader Hunter the plantation where he lives containing two hundred & twenty acres of land in the room of my son Cader Hunter it being his full part of my Estate to be delivered to them at the of twenty one years old.
Item I Give and bequeath to my son William Hunter three hundred & forty acres of land already received known by the name of Rices also one Negro by name Taf already received &c.
Item I give and bequeath to my son Timothy Hunter one hundred acres of land over Chinkapen Swamp one hundred acres of land part of the whereon Cader Hunter formally lived allso one hundred & seventy acres of land which is part of the tract known by name of Rices place one Negro Boy named Tony one bead & furniture one cow & calf to him & his hers forever & one musket.
Item I give and bequeath to my son Joshua Hunter

Item I give and bequeath to my daughter Marry Hunter two Negroes named Winne & Fillis one feather bead & furniture one cow and calf to her heirs for ever also one linen Wheale &c.
My Will and desire is that after my wife Rachel Hunter Deceased that my seven children namely William Hunter Timothy Hunter Joshua Hunter Sarah Perry Christian Hunter Sennuth Hunter & Marry Hunter have one Negro apiece the choice of all my Negroes and the equally division of the remainder part of Estate between my seven children William Hunter Timothy Hunter Joshua Hunter Sarry Perry Christan Hunter Sennuth Hunter & Marry Hunter
Lastly I nominate and appoint my wife Rachel Hunter William Hunter & Timothy Hunter to be my Executors to this my last Will & Testament to see it full field and accomplished in every particular according to equity and good justice In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixt my Seal this fifteen day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred &
